Dan's Southside Marine

Question

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of buying a boat I have already ordered at Dan's Southside Marine and for a variety of reasons am becoming uncomfortable working with them and am thinking of pulling out. What has everyones experience been like with this dealership? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.

I was happy with the sales process at Dan’s but not happy with the service. To be fair, I have never seen a marine service department that has real good “customer service skills”. I’m talking about returning phone calls, and having things done when they say. I did not have a problem with the quality of the work though.

From my experience they have a great service dept.

They also put some items on their packages that I have never seen another dealer include ( water seperating filter, stainless prop, zero effort shift and throttle cables ).

Thanks for the info jackpot. I'm having problems with the sale process and am getting a little spooked about service down the line so thats helpful info.

I didn't buy my boat from them, but all service work has been performed at Dan's. My experiences there are positive. If you're uncomfortable with something, tell them. Make sure they take the time to explain all of your questions and concerns. If they don't, tell them you are not buying a boat from them. Good luck.

IMHO most boat dealers aren't exactly prime case studies for premier customer service. I didn't buy my boat from Dan's but they've done service for me and I've been happy with their work and would buy from them.

I bought a 2$,$$$ rig there. I'll keep it clean & reasonable.

Their sales staff is awesome, will do everything to help or "correct service problemS".

The service has "learned" and probably better now (hopefully my ranting helped).

Stay with them, me thinks. I hope that helped.

You getting a Suzuki ? You could not get better than a Suzuki.

I've been a customer there twice. Don't know why I decided to give them a second chance. No way I'll be giving them a 3rd chance. Problems with both the sales and the service depts if you ask me. Know 2 other guys that think the same. Good luck.

Thanks for the great input everyone! The positive feedback especially has been really reassuring so I've made my desicion and feel good about it.
