Alas, Wisconsin bass opener is just about upon us. Who's going and where you heading?

Um...ah...(clears throat)...(mumbles)...I'm going walleye fishing.

OK, I'll try to hit a just over the border lake on Sunday for bass.

Ray dude.. you kill me man!... Unfortunatly for me... I will not be on our or WI water this comming weekend.

I will be riding the MS 60 bike ride saturday. My tounament partners and best friends wife has MS, and this is something I feel I have to do. I really enjoy it, and feel good about doing it. Its only 60 miles.. then sunday I will have my mother out.. maybe do a grill thing outside if the weather is nice.

However, them basses better beware all the rest of the days between now and ice on!!!

i'm with deitz! although our seasons are open; i have to go into the getting ready mode for my kids graduation the 15. soooooo! it means storing the boat at a buddies place, moving things outside ,cleaning and recleaning the garage. cleaning house,getting tables and chairs. OH MY!!

Any suggestions on lakes that are just over the border? I have gone to Bass lake in the past, but it has limited parking.

bassman- depends how far you want to drive...

I always like hitting Balsam Lake early season... Big Round can be good.. and there are a ton of little puddles that are fun.. One of my faves is Wood lake..

Careful if you go to Big round, great bass fishing early but last year there on opener I sheared my prop, at the launch of all places, way too shallow if you have a larger boat, mid-sized or smaller should be okay. Caught ton's of bass still just using the troller to get around.

I'll be shore fishing some lake here around Stevens Point. Hopefully the weather will look up! I've actually caught some nice smallies on the river already, but I'm itchin to start targeting the bass.
