0 CFRay
I use the Yamaha Ring Free product in my 115 4-S. My cousin is the service mgr. at a marine dealership and he recommended it to me. Coming from my relative I feel its a beneficial product moreso than if I heard it as customer at any dealership. It is easy to add each time you fuel the boat. 0 gspman
Haven't tried the shock treatment. What is it?
0 Chev_trucks501
Yamaha ring free is a great thing. The shock treatment is for extra dirty deposits in your engine. I run Ringfree all year in my 150Vmax. I also use Yamalube and I noticed that it smoked less than standard oils. I would recommend Ring Free to anyone. 0 SUICK
Do you put ring free in every time you fill up or just a couple times a year. I;ve heard different stories. I've also noticed that yamalube smokes less.
0 Northlander
I ran Yamaha products in my old boat but now run Amsoil. The guy who had my boat before me ran Amsoil in it. Both are great products with Amsoil being a bit more money. It seems Amsoil gives me better cold morning starts and burns clean. Other than that both seem to perform very well. You cant go wrong with either. I always figured if I bought a Yamaha I would run all their stuff in it. Now that my new boat was already running Amsoil I had no choice but Im happy with the performance with it. People I talk to that are running Amsoil say nothing but good things. Then again I havent heard any bad about the Yamalube. Either way you wont go wrong.
0 gspman
Everytime I put gas in the boat it has the appropriate amount of ring-free and stabil in it.
0 TSCTSC
Do you guys know that the Yamalube is a semisynthetic oil whereas the Amsoil is full synthetic. If people feel that both are very comparable in terms of performance, then it says alot about the Yamalube. BTW, I have about half a tank of Valvoline in the oil injection tank of my Yamaha. How do I get rid of it besides running it? I have not been able to find anything that can suck that stuff out from Fleetfarm. Thanks
0 Northlander
I think where the Amsoil will help out most is on long term wear and tear on your motor. I didnt notice any jaw dropping difference in performance with my Amsoil but Im hoping it will keep my motor running like new for many many years. Like was said earlier they are both good products. 0 Northlander
TSCTSC can you just disconect the hose at the bottom of your oil resevoir? Thats how I did my old 25 horse Yamaha oil injected. Just had to loosen up the hose clamp and pop off the line. I then drained it into a old coffee can that I pushed the sides in on.
