hamrej23
what i the best time of year to fish LS in the summer. We went there last year for a week and had minimal sucess. I hope that it gets better this year we go there. Is there a favorite resort among people? Thanks
CodyDawg
i have been going to LS for 19 years and although there are better years and worse years, early June seems to be great. We have never had a bad year. The trouble is, it is hard to get into a resort that time of year. What resort are you going to?
midwesthunter
I've been going to lac seul for 11 years now and my dad has been going even longer. We always have great luck in June. Two years ago we went mid June with great luck and last year we went towards the end of June and fishing was just as good. I think where you go on the lake makes the biggest difference. hamrej23
We went last year in august. i forgot the name of the place we went to though. It was fun, but not too many fish.
CodyDawg
Well, can you remember where on the lake it was?

Coldwater Crappie Guy
We have been going up there and staying by Vaughn lake in the middle of June and had a great time every trip. You do not have to go very far from there to get all the fish you want/ need!
CodyDawg
If you are staying by Vaughn, I bet you are at the same resort I go to. Although we don't fish Vaughn (it is closed when we go), we have never had any problem finding fish.
SUNNYD
Yep...That is where we stayed last year as well. It is no big secret as this is the only resort on this side of the lake. We had a great time the first week of September last year. We caught great numbers of fish but I would say that most of the ones that we caught were in the 15-22 inch range, the biggest in our boat being a 28 incher. My father-in-law goes to the same place in July and they had a hard time catching anything under 18 inches and their numbers were just as good as ours. They caught and released a good number of fish in the 22-26 inch range...fun, fun, fun!Take care!
midwesthunter
I also stay at the resort next to vaughn. It is hard not to run into walleyes in that area in June. Three years ago our boat caught about 150 northerns in vaughn before lunch. Most were small but the biggest was 15 lbs. We also have good luck around eagle island. I have also stayed at the resort on chamberlain narrows and also had excellent fishing. The fish up there seem to be a little bigger.
Chad711
My vote goes to Moosehorn, went last June for 3 days a BLAST. Hire a Guide by the way, its worth it...
Buck Snort 2
Would the resort next to Vaughan Lake be Mahkwa Lodge? You load your boat with gear and get to the lodge via water (about a 10 minute trip). That is where we stayed last year and did better than average the begining of June. We'll be there June 1-4 this spring too. Vaughan won't be open then but it wasn't last year either. A lot of people plan there trip around when Vaughan is open and intend to just fish that area only so those dates get harder to come by.
CodyDawg
Bucksnort2, Yes that is the one. Are you leaving the morning of the 4th or 5th? We will be arriving the morning of the 4th. It would be nice to hear how you did and where you found the critters....although we pretty much do have our plan down every year. Start in the same place and proceed from there to find the fish. How long have you been going? I havent fished Vaughn in prolly 6 years ... maybe more.
Buck Snort 2
CodyDawg,I'm pretty sure we are leaving the morning of the 5th.Our party has only been going a couple of years but the party we are meeting there has been there more frequent but I don't know how many years.
