mnwild
As exemplified by the four primetime night appearances, Brett Favre and the Packers are one of the biggest television drawing cards in the NFL today. Along those lines, eight of the final nine games on the Green Bay schedule in 2005 will be broadcast nationally. For those reasons, just five of the team's 16 games will have kick off at noon (CT) on a Sunday.Isn't that the truth, atleast the NFL know who draws the bigger audiance. MJR
Everyone likes to see celebs fall on their faces. As you said it is a big draw.
Down to Earth
I know KFAN has been talking about the schedule on PA & Dubay. I think NFL.com is releasing it at 1pm. I haven't seen anything hard copy though.
fishyguy
Schedule is on nfl.com now. I think I see GB at 7-9, Chicago at 7-9, Detroit at 8-8 and Vikes at 10-6 (trying to be unbiased as I did this). Long way to go before the season though and the teams may change. The key for both our teams is how far have the Bears and Lions have come along. Flash
Oh great!!! Da Bears come to town in the last game of the year to knock the Vikes out of the playoffs. Of course, Da Bears were eliminated about 4 weeks prior to this.Flash"Set the Hook"
mnwild
What I wanna know, is the Vikes have been signing all these players this offseason more than anyone else and they only play 1 MN game, only 1, what a slap in the face to the Vikes organization. Guess they know they are going to be same same Vikes as years past.
Down to Earth
I thought I recall hearing one time a few years back, that in order to be on Monday Night Football a team had to have a winning record the prior year. I don't know if they still do that or not. Someone correct me on that if I'm wrong. My guess is if the Vikes have the success that is predicted for them this year, next year you will see more Monday nighters scheduled.
fishyguy
Yes, the Vikes seemed to have improved on paper but they also traded their best national TV draw. Like it or not, Farve has become a media golden boy.

More than likely to happen as we all have come to accept but I will still take it when you are laughing at us after your boys have already had a couple of rounds of golf in from a early dispatching at the hands of the purple. It should be a interesting season. Bears and Lions on the rise, Vikes upgrading a pathetic D, and the Pack struggling with the cap to stay on top. It is going to be a long wait for the opener. james_walleye
Ah by the middle of the season the networks will be regretting the fact that they have too put the subpar pack on national TV. I dont think even god, i mean Favre can save that sinking ship.
Dave B
Week 1 odds released: Pack 2 1/2 dogs to Lions, Vikes 6 1/2 favorite over TB.
