Lund livewell question

kevfish

Question

I have a 1775 lund pro-v. When I have the rear livewell on recirculate the livewll has a constant stream out the back of boat. Meaning it is leaking when on recirculate. Where is the problem/ and how do I fix this. The front well is fine and does not do this

Sounds like you may have a overflow problem. Does yours have the tube with filter on the top? I would blow some air threw the overflow and check the rest of the plumbing to make sure there isnt some buildup in it. I have had minnows and leeches get stuck in mine and had to run a good jet of water threw to spit them out.

It is coming out of where the rear livewell takes fresh water in from and where it drains out when you set it to drain. It is a slow stream of water and not as fast as when you set it to drain. Has to be something not closing or sealing properly when on recirculate.

Thanks for the clarification... what that typically means is that your vavle needs to be adjusted... you should be able to find the valves under a piece of floor that's about 12" x 16" or so, either right in front of the rear deck or right before the front deck.

Take the 4 deck screws out, determine which one is the rear livelwell valve and start adjusting with it... it's kind of like adjusting a throttle cable on a lawn mower.. it'll be pretty straight forward once you figure out which way you need to go.

Good Luck!

Ah, that helps! I would agree with the above statement. Sounds like something needs adjustment in the valve. On my 1775 the board stated above (right where your feet sit when your sitting sideways in the back seat), doesn't have any screws in it. Just put a flat tip screw driver in the front seam of the board and pry up and try to slide forward at the same time. You'll be able to see hoses running from the valve to the back livewell or turn the back livewell controll and watch for which cable moves.

I've taken my "face" off of my valve. If you can figure this out, try to see how the plungers are orientated as compared to hose lines when the control is in the recir. position. It's been awhile, but the only hose line that should be covered by a plunger should be the one that goes out to the back of the boat. Hence allowing water from the livewell to free flow into the impeller and then be pumped back into the livewell. Good Luck
