I have never ridden in one but look at the bottom and that might tell you something. The ones down here are more flat-bottomed so they don't do too well in big waves. They would do Fine on a lake with a mirror finish, as long as the wind doen't come up! They look like good boats though!

A friend of mine has the V185 with an F150 Yamaha, its a real nice boat, very much a pro style boat. check out their web site. (look for the V angler series)they do sell the flat bottom river type boats too. they are a very affordable option out there, all by Yamaha.
