Post race inspection

Recommended Posts

Looks like the Hendrick boys are having a little trouble passing post race tech. Whats your guys opinion on this.

I say if it gave an unfair advantage (larger fuel cell, shocks/springs out of speck, etc.) a car fails and should be awarded 43 place points.

Whats everybody elses take on this?

seems this year more are running into tech problems. When Nascar gets sick of it, they will take driver points away, not just a fine which doesnt matter. The points loss will get thier attention. Use to be they all pushed the limits a little, now anything goes.

Whats with this after the race inspection? Jimmy johnson's roof height is to low? Do they take into account they adjust during a race, with track bar or wedge to make the car handle better, or does this not affect the hieght of the race car? Anyone help explain this to a novice? I would assume as they alter the weight of their car, something would have to raise or lower. Sure was dumb founded that that if this was a problem, the PRE-RACE inspection would have found it first? Any explaination will be concidered on MY part, NOT NASCARS! confused.gif

They do take the adjustments into consideration but the rule state the ride hight must be "X" AFTER the race. They discussed this last year. Kyle Buschs car has the right rear to high, causing the whole car to be shaped like a door stop. They also fill the cars with fuel and put them back on the scale. The 12 car won a race two years ago but was light on the scale. They discoved he had lost all of his coolant on the last lap. The allowed him to refil his car and he then made the weight.

Remember when they took Tony Stewarts car away cuz they didn't like one of the measurments? NASCAR took 25 points from the 42 car last year because of some body infraction and a couple of years ago they took 25 points from Martin for having an illegal front spring in his car.

Agree with mnfishin guy. Cheaters!? Kurt Busch should be the winner. Move everybody up. I am glad Nascar has these rules. They take points away from Jr for using some questionable langauge. Now thats bogus

The real damage has yet to be seen. The 48 & the 5 car lose their crew chiefs for 2 weeks and the 29 car for 4 weeks. They all say they will appeal to NASCAR, but NASCAR has never changed it's penalties. It think they are finally trying to teach everyone a lesson. Maybe now the teams will start to listen. Remember, in racin "best cheater wins", that is "most of the time". wink.gif

I don't know if I'm ready to say if the Chevys are having trouble keeping up with the Fords. If you take the 48 and 5 out of the picture, there are 3 Fords and 3 Chevys in the top 10. Too early in the season I think to say one has trouble keeping up with the other. But it definitely looks like the season is shaping up to be Roush vs. Hendrick.

This is gonna be a fun season to watch!
