I have the Vector 3x steering with 55 lbs thrust and I really like it. It takes a little getting used to, the articulated steering. I'd recommend it, especially if you're a back troller like I am.

Good Luck,

MJ

from a chart in the Cabelas the vector 3x has more features, telescoping handle, maximizer, super duty bracket, lighted directional indicator, . I just received a Maxxum in the mail and I missed the fact it didn't have a telescoping handle, oh well, I can fix that problem. The maxxum has battery meter, maximizer and tilt twist tiller (infinite speed). The only benefit of the maxxum is that it has infinite speed and costs $100 less than the 3x, I guess I'd go with the 3X. I only needed a little motor so I stuck with the Maxxum 40T.

one of the main things that i am looking for is being able to backtroll quickly and it seems that the vector has the quick pin for changing to backtroll fast and easy. the maxxum is a little more difficult than the vector. just what i have been reading. any comments?

I picked up a vector first than returned it for the 3x last fall and am happy I did. It would have really sucked without the 3x, I like the maximizer idea...etc. Isn't there also one or two years more on the warranty, plus better free stuff via rebate?

To me I got a good deal is when 6 monthes from now I don't catch myself saying "gee...I wish I would have....." Know what I mean?
