Dano2
I've grown pretty attatched to my American Angler Ultra over the last 3 years, but I think its ready to bite the dust, just doesn't seem to have the power it used to, even with fairly newblades. What should be my next one? Northlander
I also like my American Angler. The new Rapala battery operated looks like a nice unit as well. They are great for Panfish. I use mine for all fish though and it works great.
PierBridge
I the Rappala you can use a DC or AC power supply and it comes with a long and short blade in a nice case.
Neiko
I have one also and it doesn't hold the charge anymore for more then one fish. I ended up buying a cheap black and decker plug in for under $10 I think I paid for it. Works just as fine. If I do buy another one it will be a AC/DC ability. JohnE1966
Make sure your new one has the shark blades, they are awesome.
The_Duckslayer
I have the Rapala. I like it because I can use it in the house on 110V with the adapter or on any 12V source in the boat. Everything, including a board, is stored on or in the handy carrying case. To date it has cleaned every type if fish that I have caught since I bought it, well except the bullheads, I just gut and skin them. They are thee only way to go when filleting panfish! protrapper
I have used the Mr. Twisters for years and I like them. But I was just at a Menards that was selling Storm fillet knives for ten bucks I bought ten of them, bought them out. I used them on some perch and sunfish yesterday and they worked great. Those ten should last awhile.
Deitz Dittrich
I use the Mr.twister brand... heck, I have even used it to carve the thanksgiving and X-mas Turkey the last 3 years as well.. great knife!
Dano2
I see the American angler ultra pro is now supposed to have more power and built tougher, I guess they must have improved it over the last 3 years, or maybe mine IS the same one, its blue, but I'm not sure if the newest ones are yellow, or I think the others I saw at cabelas was black and gray. anyone know? Also, how about them slimmer blades they have out now for the american angler? do they work better for any certain fish, like panfish? Ya just gotta love walleye, fun to catch, easiest to clean, and good to eat P.S. I thought about the mister twister, but read over at another site, about 3 guys mentioned that they have been shocked by them
Deitz Dittrich
Dano- I prostaff for Mr.Twister.. and I can honestly say, I have never heard of that happening. Strange!
Northlander
I was never shocked by a Mr.twister Brand but they did tend to heat up fast. At Devils Lake we were cleaning a bunch of Perch and it got so hot I couldnt use it anymore. Never had that problem with the American Angler or Rapala. I also saw the Storms at Menards but passed on them because I already had 2. They only run off 110 dont they. I like to be able to plug into my boat, truck and house. Lots of good ones out now. Dano2
Got the Mr. Twister. Only $19 so figured I'd try one out. Sounds like its got some power. Still have my american angler for backup( even though I think its ready to puke) if the new one heats up too fast.
