Genofish
What type of tools and parts do you recomend to keep in the boat.
SteveWilson
I have stainless steel screw drivers and pliers, prop wrench, a small selection of sockets (including spark plug wrench), cotter pins, duct tape, wd40, marine sealant, electrical tape, crimps, electrical wire, cheap VOM, and a few other things kept in an orange Plano tool box (O-ring seal). I have the tool box installed next to the main battery under the rear deck of my 18' Fisherman. I installed some straps to keep the tool box tied down while underway. I also have spare props mounted in the up front battery compartment for the trolling motors.
barnyard
That's a good start. I add an extra drawbar and ball, male and female plug for the lights. I also have extra tailight assemblies and side marker lights.Last year, I rewired my trailer (or was it the year before...) and when I ran the leads to the lights, I added plugs so that if a light is hit in a parking lot (has happened to me). I can unplug the remains and plug in the new one and attach the fixture to the trailer.I have not needed the drawbar and spare ball, but have been with someone that has.I also have a tube of dielectric grease for the plugs.I also carry 2 fire extingishers. One in the bow, the other in one of the bow compartments. Also carry one in the back of my van, which is also where my spare tire for the trailer is. Have heard of too many tires getting ripped off the trailer to risk that. This year, I will probably also start carrying a complete, greased with bearings, hub assembly and the tools to change out the hub. I have never had problems, but know folks that have and know a guy that carried a spare hub and then needed it.I try to have spares for anything that could ruin a trip if it would fail and/or the tools to fix.Tom B
leechlake
I'd make sure you have a variety of spare fuses somewhere in the boat.
