leechlake
I'm going to get a little trolling motor for my little fishing boat. The minnkota's with the "maximizer" feature cost about $100 more. They apparantly take less "juice" than the normal minnkotas anyone have experience with them.
0 Deitz Dittrich
I have a Minnkota Maxxum on my boat(triton TR186) Ihave the 74 lb thrust 24V system... I LOVE IT!!!!! best t-moter on the market in my opinion!
0 Giant_Jackpot
Leech,The Maximizer pulses the motor on in off many times per second so the motor isn’t always “on”. That is how they save on the battery.I have an old one I will sell you……….. $2500 and it is yours……………….
0 leechlake
you got me...will trade bimini top for trolling motor...bimini has some musky hook tears in it. Could you imagine trying to set the hook on a 55" musky only to have your rod hit the bimini top and losing the fish!!! All in good fun.
0 Northlander
Dietz e-mail me about your trolling motor system. Im looking at upgrading my 55# with universal sonar to a 74# and wondering how long you can run on 2 fully charged batteries. Alos what was the cost? 0 ChuckN
Northlander, I have a 24V 65lb Autopilot (with maximizer), 2 Napa Orbital batteries fishing all day in tournaments, batteries have never lost juice. Even on really rough days, these motors last a LONG TIME on good batteries. Too many variables to give you how long, but you should get a long day of fishing. The maximizer all the way. I have a transom motor without maximizer and it lasts 1/2 as long as a motor with the max system.

0 Rost
Yep, if you plan on casting all day with a 12 volt motor you'll appreciate the Maximizer. I have a Maxxum on my 18 ft boat and love it.

0 leechlake
guys, thanks for the help I bought a Maxxum this morning. Jackpot, it wasn't a secret it was just on a diffent topic and they were only communicating that with each other, thanks again everyone. Kind of like you and I and the bimini thing, not to beat a dead horse but I was at a store yesterday and they had bimini hardware and I was laughing out load. I dont keep secrets from my FM family!I will tell you this.. I would never trash another company on the boards.. My boat when I bought it had a Moter Guide on it, it was the 76 LB thrust, I gave it about 2 months hard work and then realised it wasn't for the way I fished.. I now have the Minnkota Maxxum 74 lb and coun't not be happier!
