Crappiechaser
Today on my Aqua Vu every time a school of sheepshead would swim by there would be a walleye or 2 behind them. I had one come up to the cam and look at it. It was really cool to see them that close. They didnt want anything ive thrown at them.
Jim W
I fish Lake Pepin Pool 4 a lot in the Spring until mid-summer.That is something I have heard and personally witnessed. Also, there appears to be an "average size" of sheepy I find with the walleye as well! Somewhat of an indicator of what kind of walldogs are in the area! ( my take that is)However, somedays, especially live rigging it can be a task to weed out them sheepers! Cool stuff and one more thing to be observant of while n the water! So as mentioned, don;t move too soon from a spot if a couple sheepers come in quick. They might just be a little more aggressive or fast than the nearby walleye!Jim
WALLEYE_HUNTER
ive heard that if you start catching/snagging sheep head when your fishing for walleyes the walleyes will be right behind them feeding on them.....
bigbucks
I'll take any walleye that's willing to eat one of those big woolies!I've noticed that I've caught sheepshead almost exclusively when fishing for walleyes in spots where I expected to catch walleyes, & often times where I have caught walleyes before. I remember an evening when we'd caught 3 nice walleyes, the biggest was 21 or 22" & then I tied into this monster. It turned out to be sheep about 12 lbs. Man that was a big strong fish!
