Marcum LX-3 Battery Life

I know that the LX-3 has more peak to peak power than the FL-18. How does that affect the battery life? Has anyone had issues with batteries dying quickly?

The reason I ask is that I just bought an FL-18 yesterday but I was torn between the FL-18 and LX-3 and now I believe that I should have gone with the LX-3. I am looking to return the FL-18 just curious about the battery thing for the LX-3.

On LOTW I get 1.5-2 days out of a fully charged battery and that's with it on most of the time from 8:00-5:00 every day. I always bring a spare just in case though.

I have both a Vex FL-18 and a Marcum LX-3.. and I have yet to notice a difference in battery life.. Like I said there may be a slight difference.. but I havn't noticed it yet. I just recently got the LX-3 and have been very pleased with it...I really like the ajustable zoom.. and I think you bait takes up less room on the screen, giving you better target seperation.. I hve been very pleased.. and the charging system on the LX-3 is second to none!!! That alone is what pushed the deal for me!

So far, I've only had 6-8 hours on the unit between charges(battery has never died), and the % charge indicator hasn't dropped below 80% on me yet. Who knows though, if that gauge is like my gas gauge in my car, it could drop like a rock as soon as it hits 50% Absolutley no complaints about the unit yet, I really like it so far.

I can get close to a weekend on an LX-3 without a charge in a crunch. I'm guessing about 16 hrs. run time or so, that is to completely dead. I typically charge before that, but they will go quite awhile...

I got a new LX-3 2 weeks ago and used it on Lake of the Woods in a sleeper fishhouse for 4 days. I calculated approximately 33 hours before it went completely dead. It ran on 0% charge for a couple hours alone on the final morning of our trip.

I did use it in extreme temps of -20 in my portable for a few hours on the first day of the trip.

I have both the FL-18 and the LX-3 and I have not noticed much difference in the battery life. I ran my LX-3 for about 19 hours this past weekend and I dont think it went under 30 or 40%.
