Aqua-Vu Quad 360 Recall

mnrstrider

Question

I've heard there is a recall out on the 360's seems the water leaks into the cameras if they are dropped down the holes too fast or something, either way just an FYI there is a recall out there. I heard this from a Gander mountain employee. Sorry I don't know any more details.

On the Aqua Vu Quad, none that I am aware of?

I have seen a large amount of returns of another make of camera due to leakage, but not the Aqua Vu.

You always see a couple of returns on most models, more due to abuse then defects.

I don't think you understand what I posted, there is a recall, just found out about it yesterday. This post is not to bash Aqua-vu, I know some other cameras have has similar issues, but this is suppose to be a recall from aqua-vu... I just wanted to post an FYI in case anyone had this problem.

I've tried 2 Aqua-Vu ZT cameras and both leaked the first time out. Very frustrating. These are the ones with the perch cameras. I can guarantee it was not from abuse. The second one had bubbles coming out of where the cable attaches when it was 2 inches under the water. Not good. I will hopefully try the third one this weekend.

I just e-mailed Naturevision and received a response within 15 minutes-NO RECALL they are dealing with the older units on a per case basis. Newer units are receiving the epoxy before they leave. Straight from JP Zernov at Naturevision.

I had a Quad 360 that leaked in one of the camera's. They had a little trouble with some of the units leaking.I sent mine in and was replaced with a new one in no time flat. New camera's coming off the line are now filled with epoxy and can't leak.

I work at Gander, and we received a letter from Naturevision. The letter stated that the cameras would leak if submerged in cold water after being in a warm area like a fish house. It had something to do with the seal material. You must contact the manufacturer for warranty repairs if you have a defective unit. We had numerous units returned before this was brought to our attention.
