There are a lot of great goose calls that are under $100. Most major call makers have custom calls that you can order in Delrin or wood that have the same guts as the acrylics, but have half the price. I have calls all the way up to $150, but the ones I have on my lanyard every hunt are all under $75.00. There are a lot of very good ones, but the customer service is what seperates the good from the best.

My top three goose calls under $100 would be:

1) Delrin Winglock Short Reed- Great call that is very easy to operate. Rick Perry is the owner and call maker and he will tune to your liking and if that doesn't work for you send it back in and he will retune it. It sells for $59.99 off of his HSOforum.

2) GK Calls Giant Slayer- It is a great sounding short reed that is made out of acetal, which is a material very similar to delrin. You can drive over it with your truck and not do any damage to it at all. It sells for $79.99 off of the GK site-but you also get a free copy of Shawn Stahl's honker talk with it(the best short reed instructional video I have seen-$19.99 value)Bob Alfieri is the owner and also has great customer service. I sent my call back to him to tune it real deep and he had it back to me in 3 days for no charge at all.

3. Black Dymondwood Hayes Call. Bob Hayes is another top notch customer service guy. If you have any trouble with his calls he will either fix it himself or talk you through it. I tried to re-tune mine and got it all screwed up, I emailed him and he gave me some instructions and they were good enough for me to re-tune it and actually learn how to tune all of my calls. He has a HSOforum with a lot of great calls for very good prices. Wood, Delrin, or Acrylic are all well under $100.

Just like any musical instrument, you'll get what you pay for. I wouldn't rule out a pricey call, but then again, don't buy just any hi-end call. A cheaper call usually sounds great when you first get it, but humidity, dryness, and other factors will make that call sound different everytime you take it out.

Customer service does also make or break your call.

In my opinion, and I've tried pretty much every hi-end call out there, THERE IS NOTHING THAT COMES CLOSE TO THE GROUNDS PRO SUPER MAG.

Tim is as nice as they come. Email him, [email protected]

He'll typically give you a call and blow some calls for you. Great guy
