Josh8481
I was wondering if anybody has any experience with trying to connect a Fish Trap house with a house of another brand (Otter in this case)? My friend has an Otter which is bigger in size, and I have a Guide. I am aware he'd have to get the rear door sewn into his house, but I am wondering if anyone has any reputable places in the Twin Cities that they've brought their house to for repair or even a project like mine. Also, would his opening just have to be made the same size as mine, and the trap-link should work with no flaws, or could there be any clearance issues based on height differences, etc.?Thanks
Ryan_V
Seems like alot of work. If I had an otter, the last thing I'd do would be cut a hole in it, and a BIG hole at that. Even then, I'd think it would have to be just right for the traplink to work properly. If you fish with him often, I'd say your best bet is to talk him into a fish trap like yours!!! Just my 2 cents worth.
Zaraspooks
Trap-Link Connector pieces are different. I have a Yukon and that connector would not connect to your Guide. I checked the box my connector came in and it said, "Trap-Link Connectors only work on like models. A Fish Trap Yukon only links to a Fish Trap Yukon."If your looking to have the Otter modified, I would recommend Harris Canvas off of University in Minneapolis. Remember, the opening will need to be the same size as the one on your Guide. Good Luck
kslipsinker
One key factor is the height of the sled. As stated, the Guide would not hook up with a Yukon or Voyager because the sled is 5" higher. The opening is 5" higher on the larger units, so they will not zip together. Josh8481
Thanks for all your responses guys. I am hoping that the size differential will be liveable, as long as he gets the same sized hole sewn into his. I guess we'll have to set them up side by side and see how much different they really are I suppose. Well, it's worth a shot to see if it will work I guess, thanks again for all the suggestions. RoadRunner
Something tells me that by this time next year Otter will have the same option in their houses.
