opps you are right. I wasn't really paying attention when I posted that. I was thinking that the lakes opened the same day as the streams.

Can you use live bait at the courthouse lake? Are there any special regs for the lake?

Courthouse is a designated stream trout lake. No live minnows and only one line per angler.

The first time i went there we caught nothin and from what i have been hearing no one has been catching anything there

My brother and I went fishing there for the first time on opening day, Jan 15th. Within a few hours we easily caught our limits (5 each). I went fishing there five more times after opening day and caught trout every time I went out, although not as many.

6264.0050 RESTRICTIONS ON DESIGNATED TROUT LAKES AND STREAMS.

Subpart 1. Restrictions on designated trout lakes. The

lakes described in this part are inhabited by trout other than

lake trout. In order to protect and foster the propagation of

trout, the following restrictions on fishing in these lakes

apply:

A. taking of fish is prohibited, except during the

open season;

B. not more than one line may be used for angling at

any time, including when angling through the ice;

C.taking of minnows is prohibited, except under

special permit issued by the commissioner; and

D. possession or use of minnows as bait, except live leeches and processed minnows in a dried, frozen,or pickled

condition, is prohibited.
