cmpeterson1
I have a otter mag.that I just insulated with foil faced bubble insulation.Picked up at Fleetfarm,4'x25'for $30.Just run over the top of poles, and cut slots for the velcro. Then bolt down to sled with alum. strip.Nite and day differance,my back used to get cold not no more.A lot brighter to.Also folds up with the house great. 1DIRTBALL
Was the product you used called Reflectix?
Gadgetman
jmnhunter, Cabelas sells a heavy duty space blanket for $9 that I put up in mine and it has made a huge difference. Reflects the heat back at you and also reflects light back. All the guys that I fish with have put them in their otters and traps.I'm sure that the reflectix would be better but costs a lot more
dcfisher
just wondering about installing the blanket or wrap. Do you put it only on the top because of the poles or do you do the sides also. Have a otter and would like to do this.
Ole #1
Just so everyone knows, canvas craft in Anoka makes and sells insulated canvas portable fish houses. I boughgt the 8x8 at the ice show last year and it is truly the highest quality portable I've seen or fished out of.
minnesota mac
ole #1 HOW IS THAT INSULATED CANVAS. DOES IT GET WET OR DAMP. I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF GETTING IT BUT THAT WAS MY QUESTION ABOUT IT.
Ole #1
No they don't get wet or damp and there is no condensation. That's one of the great features. The inside canvas is white, so you can see really well.I can't say enough good things about these houses, they do make them in the flip over style too. They area little spendy, but worth every penny.
cmpeterson1
I did the back, roof and front at the same time.Helps if you have 4 hands takes about hour.I had to over lap to get full coverage, had to trim piece down and over lap .The reflectix [i think thats what it is]would be better then space blanket because of the thickness.I my house heats up faster, and I also run my heater lower.$30-$50 is worth that to me,hell last week bait cost me dam near $75.DAM GOLDEN SHINNERS.
