troutstix
Hello all!Anyone here use an AV mo-pod? What are your thoughts? How time consuming is it to set up? I do a lot of moving throughout the day, and usually use the camera in the downview position. But there are times I like to view from the side. Hate to buy it, use it once or twice, and condemn it to the closet!
ScottND
I've got one and it really sucked until I devised an adjustable strap system to keep the legs from going out from under it. After that it worked good on my DT, but you may be better off selling the aqua vu and going with the Marcum 560. Wish I would have waited!
TV BOY
I just used my new tripod that I got at the ice fishing show. The sign said "yes, I made these in my basement" Basically it is a tripod with big lead weights on each leg with a base that the bottom of the camera mounts to. You can adjust vert angle with a set knob and the height. The total height is 6-11 inches. Since most ice fishing is done of the bottom it worked great! No more twisting the cable and then trying to set it,only to have it rotate on you. YOu only have to play the spin game until you see your jig then set it on the bottom. (just set it gently or you get a plume of debris that takes a while to settle) The only problem might be if the bottom was muck, although the legs have some rubber flanges by the ends of the legs to prevent sinking (I think they were stolen off the kids suction cup arrows ) I would highly recomend them (under 40 I believe) although I can't remember the vendor. I believe I've seen something similiar to that at capra's

troutstix
Thanks guys! Not looking for info on the positioning stand (the one that sits on the bottom of the lake), but the motorized ice pod that sits on top of the ice and rotates the camera via remote control. Appreciate the input!
30 inch eyes
I bought on last Jan. and use it almost all of the time. It sure beats tring to set it up facing your jig, only to get back in your chair and find out it moved then have to try and reposition it. Just press the arrow button one way or the other and it moves.
