Dakota Iceman
An update to some earlier post's concerning the big buddy heater. I used mine this weekend in my otter lodge. temps were about 18 degrees with approximatly 20-25 mph winds. The heater worked like a champ!! I peeled down to just my silk long john upper shirt and ended up pulling up the sleeves on that. I was a skeptic....but I have to say the heater performed very well. No blowouts when opening the zipper door. I use the 1# cylinders, On the max setting (19000 btu's) it lasted about 3 1/2 hours give or take 30 minutes. Anyways...I was feeling kinda negative about the unit prior to field conditions, with that said I felt it proper to step up to the plate and give a good review as in my opinion the unit performed as advertised. Gus
Thank you ICEMAN! I just got my big buddy for christmas and haven't had the time to use it yet but you give me comfort! I was so excited about this until I started reading negative posts. I can't wait to try mine out now this weekend!
Jeremy airjer W
I had mine on the ice today. Not a real test of the heating power but the fan did an excellent job getting the heat even in the shelter. The wind was moving pretty good this morning and there was no problems with the flame blowing out. I'm pretty pleased with it so far!
