New Years fishin trip to MN

Could not think of a better way to get info. I'm on a fishing board up in Maine/NH....this is helpful.

Coming to Minnesota to Ice fish in a week. Looking for a suggestion. Where, in the entire state, has the best Early January fishing?

Pike, Walleye's what else, Muskies? (dont know)

I'll get the regs, lic. and stuff off line. Figured I'd try to get a look at conditions thru your eyes if you dont mind. Probably on the look out for accomodations,,,ice guide,,,at least some general directions where I can pop up the Clam...and set a trap or two. I'll figure some stuff out as I can.

I'm mobile, and flexible, where should I concentrate efforts?

Thanks in advance,

Jaus

I agree with Lake Of The Woods, but you should consider and evening on Upper Red Lake too if you have time. You can't keep the Walleyes, but the Crappies are fantastic and the pike are big too! Since it's only about an hours drive from there to Lake Of The Woods, it's worth it to hit them both if you can.
