MinnetonkaRealtor
I have an older fish trap pro that I'd love to get a door zipper sewn into. I know it'll be a tight squeeze getting in and out, but I'd rather deal with that than having to re-bank with ice chunks once I open the hatch to see what my buddies are up to. Can anyone recommend somewhere?
Eric Wettschreck
I feel your pain as I have to go through the same thing. Here in SW Minnesota I brought mine to the local shoe repair place and they sewed one in. If there is a cobbler in your area that would be the first place I'd go. kslipsinker
I stepped on the zipper in my older Clam 5600 and wrecked it a couple of years ago. I have a friend that makes boat covers. He sewed a new zipper right on top of the old one.
Catfish John
For those that have done this, what's a ballpark $ figure to get a zipper put in?
jlm
About 35 bucks for a c style zipper here! Lots of folks out there to fix them, check the yellow pages!
Eric Wettschreck
The shoe repair dude that sewed one in for me charged me 10 bucks and a case of beer. Pretty good deal.
snapjigger
I had a C zipper put in last year at Canvas Craft in Anoka. Also had them sew a clear pocket above my windows for my DL#. I just printed it out on my pc had it laminated at work and slide it in the sleeve. Total cost about $60.00. But it made the house 10 times warmer being able to bank it up instead of losing all the heat every time you need to get out...
MinnetonkaRealtor
I found a place to have it done in Montrose. They're going to sew up a rip I had in there and put in the zipper for 60 bucks, which I didn't think was outrageous. We'll see what it looks like on Tuesday when I go pick it up... Fergus Mor McErc
Try Harris Machinery and Canvas. I don't know the exact address but they are on (or near) the U of M campus. They also have a really neat army surplus/camping gear store there.
