Vexilar battery

Hi fellas, I just bought a vexilar from a fellow FM'er and I need to get a battery. What gives the best bang for the buck, a lead acid or gel cell battery?? Or, does it matter??

I thought all the depth finder batteries (vex and marcum) where gel cel "Spill proof". I think GM just had them for 12 or 15 bucks. I've had mine for three years and keep the auto charger on it whenever its not being used and haven't had any problems yet. (that includes all summer long to keep the battery maintaned)

L&M in Cloquet has them for $10 each right now. I just called and only 6 left. Granny how many did ya get me?

make sure that they are the 9 amp and not the 7 amp. i saw the 7 at the show for $12

Good call. Im just going to run my lights off mine so the 7 should be ok. I do use a 9 amp for my electronics though.
