Anyone know from experience if you save by buying at the show? Looking at the Frabill Ranger WL - currently 399 at Gander - any better at the show? Its a long drive to the show and don't want to run down there if no savings..

Thanks for the help in advance

Mike- MARE SURE to check back tomorrow. I know Surface Tension and Northlander, both from Duluth area, went down today. I know they will spend plenty of time down there and be able to help you. So just be patient- I know one of those guys will come through for you smile.gif

Went to the ice fishing show and seen some deals on Frabill ice houses. There going for what they sell them to dealers at the show so they should be cheaper. Alot of dealers there with different prices on the same fishing equipment so check around and find the best prices.

Check around and the show and work the dealers. Sometimes price will only go so low, but they will throw in extras, especially on Sunday. Reeds booth is always good for deals. Last year we got the lowest price on a house, plus they threw in the cover ($35) the runners ($20) and one of those hockey stick ice scoopers ($15). We had 4 guys there and the deal was so good we each bought a new house!

Mike D. if you dont want to run all that way call Marine General and ask what their Ice Show Price is on that house. You may save yourself a trip. Otherwise if you go make sure you bring a pen and pad. Take notes on what everyone offers you and go from store to store seeing who will do the most for you. Lastley stop at the Marine General booth and see what they will do. Always good to keep our local shops making $ and staying in Duluth/Superior.

thanks for the tip - went to the show and ended up buying from marine general. got a nordic 2 man made by polar sport. sled and canvas looked and felt more sturdy than either the frabill or eskimo. paid 420 for the house and hyfax runners - they paid the tax, thought that was a fair deal.. thanks again for all the info fellas..

Was down at the show yesterday (sat) had to work to get a deal on a Eskimo grand caravn. finally got some what of a deal, saved about 75-80 dollars. Seems to me they did not what to deal to much. Talked to one of the reps, said they basically they all agree to sell at about the same price this year. The show was smaller than I expected, thought there would be more. Did get a good deal on some chubby darters, hope to try them on LOW next month.
