Auger gas

Do yous guys drain all the gas out of your auger before using it for the first time each new ice season? Do you use Sea Foam in the new gas? If you don't drain the gas, do you use Sta-Bil in it? I got a new auger last winter and would like to avoid any problems if I can help it. (That is if the weather cooperates and starts making ice!)

I drain the gas out after every use.....mainly to keep it from accidently spilling on something. I carry a funnel and a small plastic gas can. At the end of the season, I pull the plug, spray with fogging oil, pull a few times, then put the plug back in.Good for another year.

hey, han.

I always drain mine at the end of the season, before I store it away. Then run the engine until it is empty and will run no more. I drain the fuel from all my small engines before storing. If you want or need to leave fuel in the tank for extended storage, use Sta-bil, follow the directions on the bottle. I like Seafoam as a preventive

during the season. Rule of thumb, if I will not use all of the fuel in a small engine in less than 3 - 4 weeks, treat the fuel with Seafoam, at 1 ounce per gallon.

I run gas with Stabil in it all the time. Then at the end of the season I run it out of gas until it won't start anymore. Then in the Fall I put sea foam in my first can of mixed gas and then stabil the rest of the year. Seafoam is suppose to be a type of stabil but it doesn't work the same.
