SCHAAKATTACK
I know that the SR equipped models will be better at night. Just wondering if you can see anything with the IR versions after sundown? Right now I am looking at the new Scout model. My next question is do I stay w/ the Bluegill skin or switch to any of the other choices? And why can't you get a Crappie version except in the downview only model camera? Mostly looking at getting one for entertainment purposes for my boy, to try and keep him out longer and enjoy. Yes I will benefit from it also-hopefully. Deitz Dittrich
I believe that Aqua-Vu says that the Led Lights are 400% better viewing at night. They did some studies in perfect situations... Where the LED lights could see out about 8 feet in total darkness. yes only about 3 feet with IR... You can still see with IR, the LED lights are better for night viewing. I think for your pourpose, the scout would be a great choice, easier on the budget thats for sure...As for the skins, you can buy other skins I think they retail for about $20.. The bluegill one should be just fine however! Its actually the one I would prefer. If you think about it, bluegill are foundin the winter about anywhere, suspended or on the bottom... where Crappie stay mostly suspended.
JP Z
There will be a crappie skin for the other cameras. It was just that after the Ice-Pro skin was done that they thought the Crappie skin looked so cool that they would add it. I'm not sure on a date for it though. But it will certainly be available. backlash 1
I have the IR lights on my aqua vu, and I kick myself for it every time it starts getting dark out. I wish i'd a spent the extra money for the better lights, cuz I see nothing!
Gotem
I am thinking of getting the Aqua Vu Ice Pro. Can you see anything with these in low light or at night? How about semi dirty water? Most lakes I fish are clear, so I'm not too concerned about the dirty water. Thanks
Deitz Dittrich
Gotem-The ice pro system also has the Infrared lights just like the Scout... it does work some in low light situations.. but the LED lights work much better in those situations.. in murkey water all lights work about the same, which is not all that well... It kinda looks like you are driving threw a snow storm. Think of it as scuba diving without getting wet. In clear water you can see forever it seems.. but in a mud puddle you cant see the fingers in front of your face...
