I am looking to upgrade from my '76 motorhome and I have a '04 Dodge 1500 short box with the Hemi. Anyone have any experience pulling a 5th wheel trailer and boat behind a 1/2 tom PU?

I am looking at getting just a small 24 or 25 footer and I have a 16 foot aluminum Lund angler boat with a 50 hp yamaha.

I am sure that my truck would handle the trailer fine but what about when you add the boat? How about the difference between a low top 5th wheel and a medium? Or the diff between a new one and one that was built in the early 90s?

Thanks,
Dave

98 chevy c1500 extended cab long box
2000 coachmen 237rls 5th wheel
1998 Lund Prosport 1700/w/Honda 90hp
Pulls down the road like a dream. Speed is one thing. I just stay at 55 and no problem.
Sure is fun to turn heads!!!!

I have a 03 Dodge 1/2 ton with the Hemi, and pull a 26 foot 5th Wheel with plenty of power. I would assume that your boat would barely be noticable. By the way, my camper is a low top. Hope this helps.

I pull a 26ft high top 5ver with a 2000 GMC and no boat. I feel that I would have enough power to do it but keep an eye on your weight/tow rating. The wind will be your biggest enemy or best friend depending on which direction you are going
