How late do you hunt 4 bear?

I was wondering how late everyone hunts for bear for the season. Do you hunt the first week or 2 and give up for the other hunting or do you hunt until the end?

I can only hunt on weekends and I hunt 'til I get one or to the end of the season. Last year it was every weekend. I've got my bear already this year, so I'll be bow hunting for deer on Sat.

If you have not had an actively baited pit make sure you bring the tastiest stuff you can find.

Hostess, burn honey, raw meat, dog food with oil.

I guess I was hoping everyone would give up that late and I wouldn't have the pressure of other bait sites to compete with.

Our sites have been getting nailed but I only had a small one come in openeing day. I am trying to hold out for a nice size or there is one with Bronze head and shoulders and then going to black around.

I have been using Hostess, Molasses, Anise and candy with a honey burn but the days were warm. I am now going to take the opened bags from one site and swap them with othe sites to get a different bear scent in the site hoping to create some competition. It is suppose to be cooler this week and I will be hunting Thursda & Friday so I hope to have good news to post then.

Hunt as long as it takes. As long as you can stand to be out there and quiet.

The easiest way to get one is to be prepared and then get lucky. Lots of skill involved(trial and error) but if you do not get busted and they are not all feeding at night get comfortable and wait them out. They have to eat sometime.

I am heading up once again to try and fill my tag. Has anyone had any luck recently.

I havent been up to bait in 2 weeks. My buddy got one and I am hoping to resurrect my
old bait pile for the weekend.
