Fall food plot

Am looking to plant something yet this year that be attractive to deer during bow and gun seasons. Would be a small plot(s), could get lime and/or fertilizer into the area. Any suggestions? Am considering winter wheat, millet, and kale.

Oats or rye would be another good choice

Will be going with rye and oats for now. Would like to plant some ladino clover along with the oats for spring, but am worried about the pH which is around 5.5 there. Will be spreading some manure and fertilizer but will be next spring before we bring some lime in. Lots of deer around nonetheless!

I would consider frost seeding in the early Spring (clover). The melt gets the seeds into the ground and really gives them a jump start on the weeds. Just a thought!
