Has anyone recieved notification from the DNR yet? My buddy recieved his on Saturday and hopefully mine is getting forwarded to my new address. It says results available late May on the HSOforum but there is no link yet to check. The last few years I have been able to find out online way before we ever recieved our books. I am a little worried because my buddy was suppose to sign up with the group but did it individually. I then told him to call the DNR and get him switched into our group so if one gets it we all will get it. He says he did it but I am worried it might not have worked. I guess I will find out in the coming days.

I got mine also! What Area do you guys hunt? I have been drawn 3 years in a row and have gotten a bear each year. Looking for number 4 with possible a muzzleloader. #1 was with a rifle, #2 pistol and last year was with my bow.

Congrats FisherDave! I hunt towards the southside of 51 but it is getting crowded around there. I think there are about 1000 less permits for our area then last year if I am not mistaken.

I think I will try muzzleloader this year but I am tempted to use my pistol since I got a new site for it. I really enjoy using the bow though.

If they leagalized a spear or knife maybe I would try that.LOL

89BRONCO Congrats! Where abouts do you hunt up there? I started hunting upthere but became too far of a drive for baiting. We do a lot of grouse hunting between there and Melgeorges.

Our family owns some land near the NW Bay on Crane. My grandfather built a cabin there back in the 40's when he was working in the area. (I think there was a ranger station near where Handberg's is???) We have always hunted grouse there, but just started to hunt bears. And this year I am going to try to bow hunt for deer as well. It is a long ride for me, too, since I am coming from St. Cloud. But my dad still lives in I. Falls so he can get to the cabin to bait more often than I can.

That area is great! When I was living in the Falls I would always be down in that area fishing on Elephant, Franklin and Marion Lakes with the canoe and of course fish on Crane with our boat. In fact I'm heading up to Crane today (until Wednesday!)
