Coyotes

i live up in northens minnesota, is there a difference between coyotes and brush wolves, i am almost positive there is. anyone positive. becasue we used to shoot alot, then we stated to get smaller ones, the coyote just want to find out for sure.

The really big ones are timber wolves. Protected.
The smaller ones are coyotes (or brush wolves - same thing).
The really little ones with reddish fur and a white tipped tail are fox.

Oh yeah, and if you use coyote howling, be aware that the timber wolves are territorial, and don't appreciate coyotes on their turf. Can be pretty exciting.

last deer season a coyote ended up having a 25-06 hart attack and dropped in its tracks, it was the strangest thing. it happens a lot up here around deerwood, must be something in the water. LOL
