Garett Svir1582813971
This is what I will be using this year also! I like the little lighter weight for pulling out by hand early .

Brad B
Bought one it should be a good shack now what heater should I go with little buddy or Buddy Heater. I will be using my buddy heater since I already have it. I look at it like this the little buddy maxs out at 3800 BTU and the Buddy maxs out at 9000 BTU when on high. on low setting the buddy puts out 4000 BTU(just a hair more then the little buddy) so my plan or thought is that I would first put the buddy on low to warm the shack up and once warm just run the pilot light for heat, now on really cold days having the option to going to high heat is a nice thing to have. with this house I don't for see needing high heat unless it would be like -10 or more. it's better to have too much heat capacity versus wishing you had more. jnwb
Any one else having a problem getting it down to the ice. My front bar is about 3 inches of the ice. I do not see how to solve this. Thanks

Corey Bechtold
If I were you I'd just give them a call in the morning. I'll ask my friend who works in Customer Service and see what he says... Feel free to send me a PM if you have any further questions. Good fishing Corey Bechtold
Brad B
Mine does it too but it doesn't bother me since there is snow on the ice now plus the skirt is long enough to still be able to bank snow on it. the one thing I have heard is to loosen the velcro that holds the tent fabric to the poles. if it is too tight it will hold the bar farther up then normal. jnwb
So out of two response they are having the same issue. I do not know how this could not bother you I went out yesterday in the wind and it blew right through the house. I could not keep the holes open and had to leave in less than an hour. I bought this house for days that are cold. Should have no problem heating and keeping holes open in this house. My buddy also bought one and has the same issue. Love the set up just need this fixed. He contacted clam they said to move the poles to back hole in step #4 of the instructions.
Porcupine
I also bought one and have the same issue. The pole was on the ground when i put it together in my home. I brought it fishing and the pole is 4" off the ice. Once the fabric gets cold and stiff it sags more which causes the front pole to rise. The house needs spreader poles. I contacted Clam and so far am unimpressed with the response. Just send me the spreader pole material and the clips and I will make the spreader poles the proper length. Problem will be solved. tview
Just talked to customer service they are more then willing to help out. First loosen all Velcro and if that's not helping move the poles back to the back hole. With the canvas cold and thicker need to let the canvas move a bit more.
jnwb
Funny cause they told me the canvas needs to stretch. He said set it up and put back spreader pole in as tight as I can to stretch the canvas. He also said to move the poles to the second hole. When I talked to him it sounded as though they are getting calls on this. I asked if they are making canvas changes and he did not awnser. He was nice and willing to help yes. Just have an issue with paying $400 for a one man fishi house that I can't use in the cold!! It is like they set it up inside and never set it up in the cold. CamozKool
I think someone wanted to save on costs by shaving off an inch of fabric, at first I thought it was the velcro being placed incorrectly as I have tried all the current remedies, pole movement etc.. and have had my LEGEND set up and strectching for three days now (inside) so now what will it do when I take it outside.... I tried the spreader pole idea too but that caused roof saging which isn't a big deal unless its snowing... I'll give CS a call..thanks
RainyEye
My new Legend has been set up in my lower level for 5 days now and the fabric does seem to have stretched some as the porch pole was about 3 inches off the floor, but now even when I'm sitting in the seat it's only about an inch off the floor. Steve@CLAM
Hey guys. We did use this shelter outside through last winter and did not see the 3" lift you are referring to. The thermal fabric does make for a tighter shelter, which is good in the wind, but understand that you want the pole on the ground. BTW, shaving an inch off the fabric doesn't save us any money -- the goal is always to get the fit right. I just talked to the engineer that designed the shelter. He did say that the solution given to tview should solve the issue for those who are seeing the hoop sit higher than desired. First step loosen the velcro. In most cases that should be enough. If not, second step is to move the poles to the back hole.
Steve@CLAM
One added note. I did just talk to our customer service team to make sure we are being consistent in our response. We will always do our best to do so, but not every customer is in the "same place" when it comes to ice fishing. In one case on this shelter the end user had a bunch of excess fabric below the u-channel, so did not fit it correctly to start with. In another case the user did not extend the spreader pole. We try hard to deal with each issue at the level of each caller. We're certainly not perfect, but to read that imperfection as intentional is inaccurate. The men and women (most of them avid ice anglers) answering your calls and emails are great people, working from our MN offices (not outsourced!), doing their best to make your ice fishing experience a good one. jnwb
Let me start by saying I ment no dissrespect. If you read above it seems to be a problem. There are 7 people on just this page today that are having this problem. I just set mine up inside again and after 30 minutes it is touching the floor and there is all kinds of slack. It will not stretch this way it is slack.I am a little upset not angry just getting frustrated. First I bought the house and it was missing the seat swivel and battery holder. Drove to thornne brothers and they gave me both pieces, (they rock). Finished putting together drove to the lake and it is windy and cold as heck yesterday. Holes froze shut. So I have gas to go get parts and gas driving to and from lake, bait, and so forth. No where have I read or heard you may need to let the house stretch for a few days or loosen the velcro or use the other hole. I can not believe the house was desienged to be used this way, something is wrong. In the mean time you have our money and we have a product we can not use as diesinged. It is like buying a raincoat that leaks. Then they tell you oh you have to spray it with rain be gone. If that does not work hang it in the closet for a few days and it might work next time. Just saying.
Garett Svir1582813971
I had this happen also but upon further inspection noticed I had too much fabric below the u channel. I pulled some of the fabric out, replaced the screws and everything has been great.
tview
Seems like loosing all Velcro on the poles has helped. I also notice I did have the fabric under u channel pulled more tight at the front on sled. Which also has seemed to help.
CamozKool
Just wanted to let you know that with a little innovation I was able to get the tarp to stretch out the additional inch I think I needed without modifying poles/velcro or playing with the u-channel, it took a broom handle and a couple bags of tube sand over night, now it looks like the floor model, its tight but supple like an expensive glove, I am happy.. I also wanted to let you know (and anyone that reads this) That I have every confidence in the products Clam produces and great faith in the staff helping answer all concerns... I wish you all pleasant memories this holiday season and good fishin...
Scott O.
I am going to try these fixes out too since my Legend is doing the same thing. Thanks for all the input.
Scott O.
Well, I tried the loosening on the velcro and I lowered the poles to the next hole and it worked. The bottom pole is now where it should be and I would encourage anyone having the bottom pole problem to do these two quick fixes.
jnwb
Okay, I left the house up for 2 days to stretch and also loosened the Velcro. I just took it down and set it outside to get cold. I will set it up latter today and see what it does fingers crossed. It was fine when I set it up the first time in the house it was a problem when it got cold. I do like the house size is perfect. I will let you guys know the result.

jnwb
Okay set house up in the cold not as cold today but cold enough. The looser Velcro and stretching seemed to work thanks for the help.
