FisH_SLaYer24
I stumbled upon this rod earlier today at Gander Mountain and it seemed like a great fishing rod for the money. For those of you that have purchased it, how do you like the rod? How sensitive is the tip? Is it comparable to a Thorne Bros. Power Noodle? How heavy of jigs can you fish with it? And are you using this rod for both deep and shallow water presentations? Sorry about all the questions, I am just very intrigued by this rod and I am thinking about pulling the trigger and going to pick one up tomorrow at GM. Thanks, Chris
cps420us
I'm sure it's decent. I have the spring bobber, panfish, perch, and walleye, and love them all! Plus, this time of the year, it's probably on discount, even better.
dan z
I don't own one but my buddy loves his. He iced a 31" northern not to long ago with it. He is usually using pretty small panfish jigs with it.
Tony Mariotti
The Micro Bite is a fun little rod. In my mind, it shines in small jig presentations, and even more so, when combined with a plastic tail. The rod's super lite tip, allows you to truly "pound" away at your jig and plastic tail and the jig barely moves while, allowing the tail to work like crazy. I know there is a Big Bluegill episode on Jason Mitchell Outdoors, that we used this rod and showed how the rod tip worked in comparison to the jig movement: The rod works well in any depth of water, and allows you to notice "up" bites from crappies as well. This isn't comparable to a power noodle, but it will work for a ton of site fishing, to finicky deeper panfish applications! Fun, little rod that you won't be disappointed in having in your rod bag! FisH_SLaYer24
Do you guys use any straight line reels or fly reels for fishing the MicroBite. I was thinking this would be a perfect shallow water gill and crappie rod, and if it was paired with a fly reel I think it would be deadly on the slabs and the bulls. Charlie Mason
its a great little sight fishing rod, or paired with a spring its the perfect short rod for the Scout, Nanook, Pro and the other single or small two man shacks
