aaron otto
Okay new to the forum, moved back from home from a decade in Arizona last year. I grew up here and love to fish the hard water. It's mostly about my kids at this point, but I do like to get out and fish for me as much as I can. Wanted to introduce myself to the forum figured this was the best way how. Love to fish...maybe a better way to state it is, "fish to live." Making this introduction as short as possible, I fish open/salt water mostly with a fly rod and a camera. Have come home every year for a week to ice fish since I moved away. I shoot a lot of images for magazines and product placement with respect to the outdoor industry. Please don't take this as being big-headed. Just wanted to humbly ask if there was anyone interested in fishing hard water, but have been burned before when I pull out the camera. Experience has taught me just to put it out there because it's not worth ruining the relationship over images. Some folks just don't want to end up in print- I get that. My face is made for the other side of the camera. What I'm looking for is some guys to fish with who love to fish and most likely don't mind to get their picture taken every once in a while. Hopefully I can find a few guys who are okay with this. Sincerely hope this doesn't hit folks as off or braggart or big headed, but wanted to start with all the cards on the table. Hopefully we'll be fishing together - AO

pushbutton
If you and your son want to hit Mille Lacs sometime this winter, let me know. My fishing partner is also a 6 year old with not much of an attention span. Will be fishing early in the year in a safe southeast bay, and will move up to the north side flats as soon as there is 18 inches or so of good ice. Also planning on driving down sometime this year and hitting Xmas for trout, but quiet is generally a key for them so I generally bring duct tape, if your not opposed to that, your also welcomed to join us

pushbutton
Will definitely have to get the critters together then! I also often bring up my 10 year old God Daughter, but she is hard core and dialed in the entire time with no tolerance of a wannabe little boy fisherman What resort are you out of? MNCPRGUY
Hi Aaron and welcome! I am a bit south of you in Rochester but I am hoping to explore some of the waters in and around the twin cities this winter as well as points to the north. My 13 year old and I are hoping to be on the ice every weekend and if we are meeting up with others, it gives us an even better excuse to take a road trip! Shoot me a PM anytime you're looking for some company and we can try to connect.
aaron otto
Sounds Great Push button. Looking forward to it. I have a four year old girl too. Sounds like your God Daughter may be a good role model for my little one to see how the big girls get it done. Looking forward to it. aaron otto
MNCPRGuy. Shoot me a note. We're 500 feet off of White Bear Lake from my garage. You're welcome over anytime to check it out. As for the local area. My radar has been perked to some of the many small ponds in the area. I have a note out to the DNR about what swims where and if they track any of the smallish puddles between myself and Stillwater. Would be up for some exploration if you are. Thanks for reaching out.
