Good Ice??

Hows it looking out there on the frozen tundra? Please post ice thickness for any areas you early birds know of. Iceman out>

Madison was 5 inches last Sunday.

Lake Henry north of Salem was about 6 inches.

I heard ice was 10 inches on Kampeksa.

Friend just got off of Thompson and said there is 8 inches on the north side. Walleyes
are pretty small, 8 inches.

Here is what I know....

The lakes I have been on in the last week are pretty good.

Sunday -Thompson had about 8
Monday - Brant had about 6
Wednesday- Diamond had 8
Saturday (today)- Madison has a good 8-10

I found great ice everywhere, but still looking for that fast and furious bite.

Does anyone know about Sinai or the Ponds? That might be my next stop.

Just got off Lake Henry just north of Thompson. Ice was about 10". A few were driving out. Five bites in five hours.

Ice here in Eastern SD is now around 8-10 .

Was on Henry today for 7 hours, not even a bite!! Talked to a guy on paulsons slough who got his limit of perch in 2 hours

Was out on Lake Sinai yesterday. Out in front of the boat ramp there is about 8". If you go a little towards the west there is 1-2". Go east of the boat ramp and there is about 8". I have'nt been to the far west end in about a week or so, but I'm guessing there will be 4-6".

The ice is pretty crummy near the heaves and cracks wich are scattered throughout the lake. It will be a while before any can even think of driving out there.
By the way, no fish caught either.

My friend said the ice was about 6" on lake mitchell, bite was sporadic and seemed like a little of everything:walleye,crappie and someone took a 1 1/2 lb bluegill.

Paulsons is north of Hazel, the first curve you come to turn West, about 3/4 mile or so.
Yeah I was on Henry by Thompson.

How far north of Hazel? I went to round lake, right east of South Shore about 1/2 mile on saturday and caught our limit of eyes. Also had alot of them about 8-10 inches.

fished enemy swim saturday. ice was a good ten inches. Two of us got four 15-17 inch eyes, pretty slow overall, but still better than gettin skunked!

Anyone heard of any good northern pike action in the area? I feel the need to tango with some overweight sloughsharks!!
