I have a rule, if I come out of the woods with more ticks than morels, I'm done for the season. It's not worth it! But I wear white pants and rubber boots every time I go out! The rubber boots make it very hard for the ticks to cling on and white pants reveal the few that manage to get on me. But yes I still had a couple attached to my body, and picked dozens and dozens off of my antler/morel seeking puppy. 

Picked thousands of morels and around a dozen ticks myself, not a bad ratio.
