Cranberry Creek Canoe

Recommended Posts

Anyone have one or ever use one?  I know they're not made anymore but don't know the reason why.

Seems like it could be a useful little thing to have around and I can pick one up cheap this weekend.  Hoping it's useful anyway.

I'm wondering if anyone has good or bad experience with one.

Is that the guy from Wis who had them at the Sportsmans show every year? I always loved the way they would load them up with so much gear and a wine holder and cheese cutting board in the middle! :D I thought they looked like fun little boats.

I have one. I have the double ender. Wish I had the one with the motor mount. They are very stable. I just got mine late last year, so not a lot of time in it. I bought it to replace my Gheenoe for duck hunting. Gheenoe was getting too heavy at 120lbs. The Cranberry Creek weighs about 60 lbs.

As far as why they are no longer being made, I think after they quit the Cranberry Creek boats it was renamed to Golden Hawk. My hunting buddy has a Golden Hawk that is identical to my Cranberry Creek. We have had 2 big guys, a bag of decoys (15-20) and my lab in it. Was a little tight but it worked. There is also a River Hawk that is nearly identical. I got mine for $200, but it needed a new thwart and a small glass repair.

Good boats!

Hope this helps.

They were originally made in Cadott, WI and then sold to another company.  I'll have to look at the Golden Hawk for curiosity sake.

My brother has had one for a few years but I've never known him to use it so I started pestering him to sell it to me.  He finally agreed.  It's in like new condition.

Yeah, exactly what you guys were mentioning are the reasons I want it.  Sometimes the kayak isn't the BEST answer and this will bridge the gap between that and a V hull boat.  This one has the motor mount end.

Glad to hear it's been working well for you dukhntr!
