I would bring the portable! With this weather you will be able to find some fishable ice somewhere around Webster. That is the first place I look for ice. Let us know what it is like out there. If you find ice. Email me, I may have to make a run out Saturday. Scott Steil

There was still open water on some of the sloughs on the east side of lake Ponisett. The bigger sloughs only the bays were iced over. I would give it a couple of weeks yet. High Temps are predicted to be in the 40's this week by Thursday. If there is any wind that ice can melt fast.

I have Broke through the ice before and it isn't very fun. If you do go out please bring a spud bar to test the ice as you walk.

I hope it is frozen enough to do some fishin this weekend. The water in the Webster area does freeze hard before it freezes in the Aberdeen area. I noticed that Sand Lake was froze over on Sunday though. Let us know how you do on the long weekend.
