Permant shack heating

I am in the market for a new heater for the shack.  I've been looking at the ventless wall mount heaters.   wondering if others are using those as well or if it better to get a vented heater?  I would also take any recommendations of other heaters or furnaces .   Thanks.

Get a vented. The non vented work well, but put off a TON of moisture, and the heat layering is terrible. Not to mention the safety aspect.

Agree with vented. Also blower or fans desireable to move heated air around for consistent temp throughout the shack. With non-vented you could find your door frozen shut next time you want to use it.

Great info... I saw his post right away and I had no dang clue what to say. Vented seemed like the obvious choice but I didn't think of the condensation aspect!

If you install a ventless heater please list me as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy

We use ventless, but we have enough cracks in ours that we get plenty of fresh air  plus we don't sleep in ours.

 

I agree with the "door frosting shut" comment! . I do use a homemade "two 12v computer fans" contraption that moves the air around pretty good good, i just mount it above the furnace and it blows the rising heat down and to the sides.
