New Ruger Shotgun Question

A friend of mine(non-computer user) asked me to try to find out what I could about a new shotgun Ruger has come out with. He described it as a light weight(6.5lbs.) side by side. I don't have the model # or name. Does anyone out there know of this gun? I think he is primarily interested in the price range. Any info will be appreciated and passed along. Thanks, Ol'Sneller

Looks like a decent gun. They have it listed at 6.3 lbs. Nice and light. Their O/U's were always too heavy IMHO. Wonder what they do different to make these so much lighter?

I own a Ruger Red Label over-under myself, (for 8 years) and it is one of the nicest, smoothest guns I own. I mainly use it for sporting clays but I have hunted pheasants with it on occasion.
For pheasant hunting I usually use my Rem. 1187 (I like the 3rd shell). My Rem is heavier then my Ruger and I have a 24” barrel on my Rem.
It is all personal preference. Go to a sporting clay shoots when the gun reps are there. You can shot as many guns as you like until you find one that works for you, and hopefully it will be in your price range. Just because a Benelli Black Eagle shots well for one hunter does not mean is works (fits or shoots) well for another and have to spend that kind of money on a shotgun. Everyone is different and everyone shoots a little differently. Heck, an inexpensive Rem 870 might work great for you. The definition of a good gun: Is a gun that you are comfortable with and can hit your target with and operates without flaw. Anything after that is fluff.

I asked about this gun at Joe's on saturday, and was told a limited number had been made, and then recalled for some reason--a defect. Anyone hear about this?
