The Orioles think so too. I just put jelly in mine, a gob in each of the 4 corners. I also drilled a hole in the bottom of each section for the rain water to drain out.

The suet is going fast, just put 3 more out.  gotta hit mills today.  17 cakes over the last month or so.

The Squirrels are don't the most damage to my suet, right around the metal cage!

never have. these things are really dry but the might work.

I've read that you can re hydrate them by soaking them in hot water for 30 minutes. They then turn soft and flexible again. Some say they work great for panfish, just as well as live ones. I have used live ones before and they definitely catch fish. This would be a real cheap alternative. Don't have to feed the freeze dried ones either.

That's interesting too. Are the ones you buy freeze dried? I've read there are heat dried and freeze dried meal worms. Or, maybe 30 minutes is the limit before they start turning mushy.

I would guess that is the difference. Oven dried vs freeze dried. That and coming from China of course.
