I found this interesting. The picture on the left is the sat image from yesterday. The one on the right is last year at the same time. Notice the dark color of the lakes already. Add this to the forecast and I would say spring is very near!

I was just west of Leech yesterday and there is 24" of ice and any snow melted on the ice.  Going to be warm this week but there is plenty of ice.  I'm sure it will be early ice out and average ice out for Leech is April 25.

Don't forget you have to keep resetting the date on the upper left hand corner to get it to up date.

We had a pair of eagles watching us yesterday afternoon so open water probably isn't that far away. I think they were eyeing the fish we had laying on the ice
