it made the corner, thats just where I took the picture. on the left it went out cause i didnt let it flame long enough, thats the trick to starting it, it has to fire enough to build up embers. if not it will go out. on the right is just at the corner, but it did turn the corner.

hmmm cliked on the reply buton and instantly brought up the typing window, maybey rick uploaded some new advertising or something.  havent tried the ice yet, my smoker went out just after the nascar corner, lol. thinking the pellets werent settle right or something., not discouraged, I got 5 hrs of straight smoke time without touching it, before with the hot smoker pan I woulda refilled 3 times in the that period.

yup had to try that, the smoker went out and had to go to bed, I just restarted it, will post how it turns out.

heres the unit doing its job, man did the bacon turn out awsome, one step I forgot was to rinse out the brine, a little salty, I took a nother two pieces and rinsed then cooked and it was better. awsome stuff.

me to, it will be awhile, tho, what im doing is allowing the ice to soak up the smoke as it melts cause ice has micro air bubbles, it will take smoke better than water, water will take smoke only on the surface, same reason when we smoke out sticks and links, that the casing has to be dry for the smoke to penetrate, so smoke the ice till it melts the refreez into cubes.

Ñice work Boar!!! Looks great!!!

The first time I made bacon i used hi mtn buckboard bacon rub, and I forgot to rinse and soak it. Oh my was that salty!!!! I'm guessing I'll never forget to rinse it again!!! 

And I put about 5 lbs of pork belly into pops brine last night, and I'll smoke that next weekend.

I'm out of pork belly and ribs from the pig I butchered now, but the prices for those things are pretty reasonable at the local meat market.

yup Im gonna get some of dat at micheals, wanna do a whole bellie, this sliced stuff turned out great but its a hassel.

 the ice cubes turn out good so far after the ice melted, my wife put the water in trays to freez, dipp ur finger in the water and yu can certainly taste smoke.

I just had my nap so I am good to go.  Bloody Mary huh?  Sure wish I had some smoked water to make cubes with.  So is there any bacon drippings in the water boar?  Probably didn't get your bacon hot enough for that.  I had the butcher cut my bellies in 3 lb chunks.  It was a nice size to work with.  Fit easily in my vac pack bags.  Can always do more than one at a time too.  Now you got me thinking I should get one out.  I think I have 2 left.  Ok I am going for it. Thanks Boar for the inspiration.....  I am going to add a bunch of garlic this time.  And more pepper..
