Bitter lake

Making a trip to fish Bitter lake and was wondering how the bite is.

no report on bite but hopefully the ice stays in good shape with the wind and warm weather.

also note with new 2016 Reg changes there is no longer a 15" minimum length restriction for walleyes on Bitter Lake in Day County.

Was out there last weekend and the walleye bite was decent through the night. Occasional very nice perch. Have to sort through the walleyes. Not much of a day bite.

Day bite slowed considerably when the truck traffic started on the lake.  11am-4pm was Really good the last week of december and first week of January.  Pretty much a night bite now, with occasional smaller walleye during the day if you are out deep.

Anyone got an ice report?

wondering how beat up the ice got this past weekend with the warm weather.

middle of lake will be fine, I would be worried about shore lines. I dont recommend vehicle traffic but should be ok with ATV

all I have been hearing from here is that fishing has been slow and that night bite has been better than day bite

Nice time today on bitter, 24ft off a drop. Minnow heads on a small spoon was the ticket. Ice was great, fun times!
