Dog Question

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a dog this week for close to free. I wanted a dog very bad but didn't want to pay much. Through a post on here I have found that dog. The dog is a mix of GSP and a Chocolate Lab. The male was a GSP and the female obviously was the Lab.

Just looking for your opinions on this mix. I wonder what i'll be dealing with here. I'm actually very excited. Plan on making her a great hunter! I just wonder if i'll be able to get any of that pointer out?? Any thoughts?

When I started hunting it was all done with labs, now I run GSP's. So your getting a little of the best of both worlds.

It will be kind of intresting though labs are really laid back compared to GSP's you will have to fill us in how it goes!

I have hunted behind pointing labs too you will have a good time! Labs are easy to train and listen well, same with pointers but they have more natural instict so if I was going to have a mix breed dog thats the one I would want!!!

Im trying to imagine what it would look like, like a shorthair with a thick coat or pudgy with long legs?? LOL

Anyway you will have a good bird dog!

Good Luck with your pup!

My friend has a dog that's just what you describe. He's a great dog. Has the body of a shorthair and the color of a chocolate lab. Shot many birds with that dog. He was an accident at a pheasant farm so both his parents were good hunters.
