LED rope lights

I don't know if this is really an "electronics" question but I know that a lot of you guys know something about LED lights.

My son wants some LED lights to mount under his glass top corner desk that looks about like the one in the picture.

Anyone have any suggestions on what type of light? Where can I get them? How do I mount them?

you can find clear ones too i would think that the brightness of doing the whole desk would be bothersome.  As far as mounting if it is a metal frame you could use some wire holders and drill them to the frame.  cool idea.

I forgot to add some details because I didn't read his Christmas list very carefully, LOL. He wants lights that change color and have a remote? Is there something like this out there? He must have seen something somewhere.

How did those lights work out?

We haven't installed them yet or even plugged them in, I told him he has to clean his room first so we can get near the desk, LOL.

I'm sure they will be exactly what he was after and they even seem to have a 3M adhesive for attaching them which will make it easier than I expected.

I was just curious, since I only saw them on Amazon, never in the flesh.  So I was wondering if they lived up to the appearance.
