Guest
A guy I work with was out pheasant hunting this past weekend. A buddy of his takes a tumble, and the end of his gun gets packed with dirt. So what is the first thing you would do? Well 99.9% of us who have a brain in our heads, would unload our guns, clean out the barrel, and make sure the gun was safe to use. Well not this guy, the first thing he did point the gun out in front of him and pull the trigger. Before I say anymore I will tell you that he is just fine and is VERY LUCKY not to have gotten himself or anyone else hurt of killed. So this one-who-thinks-I-am-silly fills his barrel full of dirt and pulls the trigger. So what happens next? Now I am sure that all of you have seen one of the many Looney Tunes, where Bugs Bunny sticks a carrot in the end of Elmer Fudd's gun. As you can imagine the dirt acts very much like the carrot. The end of his barrel is peeled open just like in the cartoons. This is one guy that is on my list of people never hunt with. I beleive that his buddies have also given him a new nickname "Dumb***", and that is exactly what he is. Happy hunting eveyone and watch out for people like this. I do have a picture of the guy holding his blown up gun if anyone could help me post it, or would like to see it via email. Good luck and be safeScott

Seabass77
Wow, that could have been much worse. What was the load he had in that gun?
Guest
Here is more information. The gun is a Rem 1100, the guy I got the photo from did not know the load he was using. He did say that he was about 30 ft away, and the gun made kind of dull pop bang sound. Then a hunk of grass, dirt and shot went flying out. I still can't beleive no one got hurt.Scott

icehousebob
Some people should not be allowed to reproduce. We just saw an example. A few years ago, I saw a shotgun barrel that some guy shot a home-made buckshot load. Instead of lead shot, he used steel ball bearings. He only did it once.
