mrpike1973
Ok my question is how do you get the line down the hole. Do you just strip it off like a fly line or am I missing something? stripping line off sounds like a big mess to me but I like the Idea of less lure spin Thanks

slipperybob
If you are running light lures, you will strip line, I do it on spinning reels already. There is a method to it.Heavier lures that call pull line, no problem it spool will spin. There is still a method to it for line management. tinker
The inline reels I use have a free spool feature with adjustable tension and a complete separate adjustment for the drag. When you use the free spool feature without any tension mine will drop a 1/32 Ratfinkee and small spilt shot non stop to the bottom without any stripping. Problems can result if you are not paying attention when the lure hits bottom or your bobber stopper, the line may continue to free spool and result in a birds nest . In shallower water I adjust my tension setting so I can easily strip line by hand . In deeper water I use the free spool feature but feather the spool with my finger. By giving the handle a short click it will negate the free spool feature. I like mine, and in my opinion they are easier to use then Spinning reels. eyeguy 54

RebelSS
Some inline you can freespool, others, like mine you have to strip. Best advice: Keep your thumb on that spool lip when line stripping. Naturboy
Scott O.
I use the $30 Eagle in line and love it. The free spool is great and I have to line strip a little for the smaller jigs, but it doesn't take much. I'm gonna be getting the No. 8 CGi inline this year to try out. I've heard good things about it. Another one with free spool on it.
