Vexilar Sonar Phone - Usability Question

MikeG3Boat

Question

Those of you who have underwater camera's will understand my question.  I have had two aqua-vu camera's one is the old tube style TV with the fish camera and a new small micro.  They both work fine as long as the conditions are right, you guys that have one know what I mean.  I always have issues with seeing what is on the screen unless I can get the camera into a dark area. They really can't be used very well in the sunshine.  They work much better when it is dark outside so I can see the screen, like when ice fishing.

Does the sonar phone work better in the sunlight because it is being shown on a smart phone or tablet?  Anyone have one of these with some experience?  I would really like to get some opinions.

Thanks!

Cell phones and tablets are not ideal in bright sun light... and polarized sunglasses, if you are wearing them, make it even worse yet!

I am sitting on my front stoop posting this on a partly/mostly cloudy day here in Rochester at 430 pm on My galaxy tab S.   The screen is quite readable even with polarized shades, except that I am old and need reading glasses.
